RSHE & Wellbeing
At St Anne’s, RSHE and Wellbeing are taught with a spiral approach to learning in which pupils will revisit the same topics at an age-appropriate stage through their school life. The curriculum programme includes teaching about personal health, physical and emotional well-being, strong emotions, private parts of the body, personal and healthy relationships, family structures, trusted adults, growing bodies, puberty, periods, life cycles, the dangers of social media, an understanding of the Common Good and living in the wider world.
The entire teaching is underpinned with a Christian faith understanding that our deepest identity is as a child of God – created, chosen and loved by God. The programme is fully inclusive of all pupils and their families
At St Anne’s, we use the Ten Ten, ‘Life to the Full’ from EYFS to Year 6. We strive to give our pupils outstanding RHSE lessons and experiences.
All RSHE and Wellbeing lessons are taught in accordance with the Church’s moral teaching. It emphasises the central importance of marriage and the family, whilst acknowledging that all pupils have a fundamental right to have their life respected, whatever household they come from. It will also prepare the children for life in modern Britain. This includes learning about British Values, protected characteristic (age appropriate) and equal opportunities.

Here at St Anne's, we strive to support the development of our children holistically, placing a strong emphasis on both the physical and mental health of our pupils. Through our RSHE & Wellbeing curriculum, we share knowledge around the development of our mental health. This helps to support them as they develop and experience changes with their mental health.

We raise awareness of children and their Mental Health by taking part in Young Minds “Hello Yellow” each year and The Anti-Bullying Alliance “Odd Socks” day.
